Newcomer Christine Bermas bares all in 'Moonlight butterfly'

ANOTHER young star is being launched via "Moonlight Butterfly" under 3:16 Media Network directed by Joel Lamangan.

Christine Bermas, 19, is soon to bare all in this movie opposite her leading men Kit Thompson, Albie Casino and Ivan Carapiet. Christine is a former member of Belladonnas, an all-female sing and dance group.

The young actress did not hesitate to do her sizzling love scenes with her leading men.

“Noon ko pa po pangarap na mag-artista, and naghihintay lang din po talaga ako ng time. May mga time at chance po tayo na dapat hintayin. Sixteen years old po ako nang sumali sa Circle of 10 contest sa Palawan, at doon po ako na-discover ni Nanay Len [Carrillo] para makasama sa Belladonas. Excited po akong gawin ang project na ito, kasi first time ko po ito na gawin lahat. Super kinakabahan po ako. Super happy po ako and thankful at the same time na naibigay sa akin ang project na ito,” she said.

(I always dreamed of becoming an actor, and I'm really just waiting for the time. We have times and chances to wait. I was 16 years old when I participated in the Circle of 10 contest in Palawan, and that's where Nanay Len [Carrillo] discovered me to join Belladonas. I'm excited to do this project because this is my first time doing everything. I'm super nervous. I'm super happy and thankful at the same time that this project was given to me.)

In preparation for her role, Christine watched movies with love scenes like Anne Curtis and Marco Gumabao's love scene in Just a Stranger (2019), 50 Shades of Grey (2015), and 365 Days (2020). She also watched Vilma Santos's "Burlesk Queen" filmed in 1977.

Despite preparing, Christine denies watching pornographic films. The sexy actress described her leading men.

“Si Albie... ano siya, e, parang magka-vibes kami, feeling ko lang. Kasi, kinakausap niya rin po ako kanina. Approachable siya at feeling ko naman po, mabait siya. Kay Kuya Kit naman po, he’s also a good-looking guy at mabait din siya. Feeling ko lang, nakakatakot siya pag sa ano na or nakaka-excite sa part na yun! Ha! Ha! Ha! Si Ivan naman po, parang ano siya... ahh, mabait din siya for me. Tapos, siguro, may pagkasungit lang po nang slight! Ha! Ha! Ha! Iyong look lang po niya! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

(Albie...we seem to have vibes, it’s just my feeling. Because, he was also talking to me earlier. He is approachable and I feel he is kind. As for Kuya Kit, he’s also a good-looking guy and he’s also kind. I just feel like he's scary when it comes to something. Ivan, on the other hand, what is he like... ah, he's also kind to me. His appearance is slightly snobbish.)

Currently, Christine is in her second year in college taking up Tourism.

After Lovi Poe's transfer to ABS-CBN, the beauteous actress is hurled with controversy. Like any other actor, Lovi avoids answering directly.

"I’ve worked with the best of the best of GMA and now I’m just gonna work with the best of best of ABS-CBN," she quipped. Unlike other actors who transferred to ABS-CBN because their contracts were not renewed, Lovi reportedly had a counter-offer from the Kapuso network following her intention to become a Kapamilya.

Lovi explained that while GMA-7 always had “great” projects for her, she realized at this point in her acting career that it's time she stepped out of her comfort zone.

She said, “Of course, with so much respect, the projects I’ve done have been amazing, too. And I believe they have so much in line that would be great. I think it’s more of a whole na parang I feel like we get to a point na we step out of our comfort zone... to experience and take up new adventures in life.”

The actress clarified further that her decision had nothing to do with any kind of offer from either of the two networks.

“It’s not because you have to compare certain projects or certain treatment or anything like that. It has nothing to do with that. It’s like as a whole and me as a person and just making this decision for myself. Like what I said, I’ve worked with the best of the best of GMA, and now I’m just gonna work with the best of best of ABS-CBN. Just to be given that opportunity to be here and to work with these very, very amazing creatives and really talented actors, parang that’s one of the major factors.”

Her first project with ABS-CBN is the Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama series Flower of Evil, with Piolo Pascual as her leading man. After 15 years of being a Kapuso, Lovi signed with ABS-CBN on September 16, 2021. Lovi started her career in GMA-7 via the prime-time series Bakekang, but it was actually in ABS-CBN where she had her first TV appearance via the defunct morning variety show MRS: Most Requested Show in 2005.
