THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City will conduct satellite voter registration at SM City Mall Saturday, September 25, 2021.

Lawyer Adrian Arellano, who is the acting election officer of Bacolod City, said the registration will start from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Arellano said only 200 registrants will be accommodated for regular walk-in applicants, and another hundred applicants for priority lanes and persons with disabilities and senior citizens.

Registrants should bring their valid government identification cards (ID) with pictures and signatures, as well as an original and photocopy of their birth certificate, he said.

If their residence is not stated on the ID, they should bring proof of their residence or billing statements, like water bills or electric bills, he also said.

From September 27 to 30, Comelec will conduct the voter registration at the University of Saint La Salle (USLS) - Bacolod.

The voter registration will start from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lawyer Kathrina Trinio- Caña, Bacolod City election officer, who underwent isolation, said they will go back to work on September 27 along with her staff who were also quarantined.

She said starting that day, there will be no registration in the Comelec office or malls.

“Our voters’ registration will only be held at the USLS, and we are thankful for them for allowing us to use their facility so we can accommodate more registrants,” Caña said.

She said because of the bigger venue, on the first day of registration at USLS, the Comelec can accommodate 500 registrants for walk-in and 150 for those who are in the priority lane.

Trinio-Caña said they will observe their first day at USLS and once they can accommodate more registrants, they can increase the number of applicants on the following day.

She said they will ensure that health protocols will be observed in the venue such as wearing face masks, face shields and social distancing.
