Robredo gets Virgin Mary statue during vaccination

LOCAL officials in Magalang town, Pampanga have offered a replica of the Virgen De Los Remedios to Vice President Leni Robredo during the vaccination of residents under the latter's program dubbed Vaccine Express.

Mayor Romy Pecson and other town officials personally handed the image to Robredo, a Marian devotee, during a ceremony at the town plaza Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2021.

The Office of Vice President (OVP) collaborated with the local government to administer the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for essential workers, through the OVP’s initiative.

A total of 2,290 individuals under the A4 category received their second shot during the vaccine rollout in the municipality.

The day-long activity was for essential workers who got their first dose last August 26, 27 and 28.

Upon the LGU’s request, OVP volunteers including doctors, nurses, and medical students, augmented the personnel needed on-site to help make the process faster.

Robredo visited the site to personally thank Vaccine Express’ volunteers and the personnel from the local government.

Vaccine Express–Magalang was a product of OVP’s partnership with the municipal government, led by Pecson and Councilor Koko Gonzales; the Vicariate of St. John the Beloved; the Archdiocese of San Fernando and San Bartolome Parish; Equilibrium Intertrade Corporation and Curve Coffee Collaborators; Smart Telecommunications; and other Angat Buhay partners.
