City employees conduct tree-planting at Angeles watershed

ANGELES City Government employees recently conducted a tree-planting activity at the Angeles City Watershed in Barangay Sapangbato.

Employees from the City Treasurer’s Office and Barangay Affairs and Public Assistance Center led the tree-planting activity as part of the city government’s efforts to reforest the 560-hectare watershed.

The City Government started its massive reforestation efforts in 2020 to increase water reserves that will benefit the city and the Metro Clark area.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. encouraged private sectors and non-government organizations to "adopt" certain areas in the watershed.

"Having water is a must. These efforts being done at the present time will help conserve water for the use of future generations. Isa lang naman po ang goal natin, ang masiguro ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan, habang pinangangalagaan ang kalikasan," Lazatin said.
