GSIS educational subsidy for active members available until Sept. 30

ACTIVE members of the state pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) who are qualified to avail of the GSIS Educational Subsidy Program (GESP) for academic year 2021-2022 can still do so until September 30, 2021.

The program provides P10,000 subsidy for those nominated recipients by qualified GSIS members who have permanent employment status with a salary grade of 24 below and no unpaid or underpaid loan obligation with GSIS (above three months).

Qualifications for those who can avail of the subsidy program:

* at any college level

* getting four to five year course

* enrolled at any colleges/universities accredited by CHED

* not receiving any scholarship grant or subsidy from any private or public agencies

Among the requirements are filled-out GESP Application Form (GSIS Form), service record or certificate of employment (GSIS Form), copy of birth certificate of the nominated grantee, and certificate of registration or proof of enrolment of nominated grantee (GSIS Sample Form).

Other requirements are report card or school certification of nominated grantee with general weighted average of 80 percent and without failing grade or incomplete grade or mark in any subject, and a senior high school report card of nominated grantee if incoming college freshman.
