Public told: Take advantage of voter registration extension

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Cebu urged those who have not registered yet as voters to take advantage of the registration extension for the May 2022 polls.

The voter registration will end Thursday, September 30, but it will resume on October 9 to 31 as announced by the Comelec.

Cebu Provincial election supervisor Lionel Marco Castillano said voters have two options: register at the Comelec offices, or via off-site registration sites in malls from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Castillano said field employees of Comelec would always follow the en banc decision, stressing that they acknowledge the influx of applicants and their desire to be registered.

"Hopefully, they will take advantage of the extended days of registration and should not wait for the last day," he said.

As of September 28, Cebu has 3,217,986 total registered voters. (MVE)
