REACHING a golden year speaks volumes about focus, hard work, patience, commitment, and courage to upturn challenges.

Only a few can achieve a half-century mark as it entails hard work and commitment to reach this level. Success is attained as an outcome of sufficient preparation, hard work, and the company's openness to learning from the ropes.

Negros Grace Pharmacy (NGP) has surmounted the challenges of times, making this company more stimulating as it celebrates its golden year.

NGP President Mr. Ian Manuel Lo has focused on making this milestone meaningful by sharing the blessings that the company has generally enjoyed through its long years of serving the community.

The young Lo recollects that, “I learned the value of sharing and giving from my parents, especially from my father, the late Dr. Manuel S. Lo, who instilled this significant value in my life. He used to help the people who were in need without expecting any return or acknowledgment. And I learned so much from him. What we are doing now is a reflection of what my father did in the past. His kindness and generosity serve as the cornerstones of our hopes and aspirations.”

NGP helped those families and individuals who are unknown to the company's leadership. The Covid-19 pandemic did not exempt NGP from the financial challenges.

“We felt the economic impact as well. But, we think that we are still in a better shape to give to others; thus, we have engaged in these philanthropic efforts. This is about God's amazing grace pouring in us, and we likewise paying it forward to the community as our way of expressing our profound gratitude to the Lord," Lo adds.

The Covid-19 pandemic came as a perfect storm for us to share these blessings even though most of us also face the uncertainties caused by the pandemic."

The young Lo saw the need to collaborate with the local government units in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo City to better achieve the equitable and prompt distribution to families affected by the pandemic, including other emergencies.

Giving has been the source of joy for our company. And it is best to share it with those affected by the pandemic.

Since the pandemic struck the world a year ago and is scaling up this year, NGP began its philanthropic works in providing food assistance to the local community in collaboration with the local government units.

NGP has initiated this meaningful endeavor with the hope that this will encourage others to give as well.

NGP has reached out to a more significant number of our fellowmen who became recipients of this pure gesture of giving and sharing what we have and what we can provide under the prevailing circumstance, Lo said.

There are still beautiful souls who have the compassion and kindness to support those in need. Quoting a German-Dutch diarist Anne Frank:" No one has become poor by giving," so never hesitate to share your blessings too, he adds.

Furthermore, we continue to pray for everyone that we can all endure these trying times. "We gently remind and encourage everyone to consistently observe the Covid-19 health protocol as our contribution in the prevention of the highly transmissible virus," Lo adds.
