VICTORY Liner Inc. donated one passenger bus to the Municipal Government of Porac to be converted for its vaccination program as a mobile vaccination bus to enable the town to effectively deliver vaccines to barangays.

Porac Mayor Jaime "Jin"’ V. Capil accepted the donation from Victory Liner Inc. led by Area Supervisor Ric Tungul as the representative of Victory Liner Inc. President and General Manager Marivic H. Del Pilar.

The 45-seater Hyundai bus will be converted into a mobile vaccination bus and will be retrofitted to include a small clinic. Capil said that the bus will greatly help the town to speed up its vaccination drive.

With Porac town’s 29 barangays spread in a land area that is the largest among towns and cities in Pampanga, mobile vaccination will enable health officers to reach more barangays and prevent unnecessary travel and movement of people. This is also expected to facilitate the vaccination of populations in the town’s highland and Aeta communities.

Corporate social responsibility

Victory Liner was quick to respond to the town’s request for a bus unit to be used for its vaccination drive.

Victory Liner, one of the largest bus transportation groups in the Philippines, has been donating some of its refurbished busses as part of its corporate social responsibility. Victory Liner is among the country’s top transport corporations serving in the country’s key destinations in Northern and Central Luzon with a fleet almost 1,000 buses strong.

Capil said while the bus company is also affected by the ongoing pandemic, it is admirable that it still finds the diligence to help local communities like Porac. Capil also thanked Marian Romilyn G. Galanza who helped make the sharing of such assistance possible.
