POLICE rescued four minors and arrested one suspect in an entrapment operation against online sexual exploitation of children in Barangay Rizal, Makati on September 29, 2021.

The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) in coordination with Makati City Police Sub Station 9 and the Makati City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

The arrest took place around 2:30 p.m. in one of the barangays within the city.

During this time, a lone 31-year-old male suspect was taken into police custody.

Recovered at the scene was the suspect’s smartphone believed to have been used for the online abuse of his alleged victims.

Rescued at the scene were one female and three male victims, all of which are minors who were the niece and nephews of the suspect. They have now been turned over to the City Government to undergo necessary trauma informed care.

Police Brigadier General Alessandro Abella, chief of WCPC, said: “The Philippine National Police, through the Women and Children Protection Center, continues their commitment to rescue the most vulnerable women and children. I commend the valiant efforts of our uniformed personnel as they pursue people who prey on the innocent.”

The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9208 as amended by RA 10364 or the “Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act,” RA 9775 or the “Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009,” in relation to RA 10175 or the “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.”
