Celebrate International Coffee Day with these top cafes in Cebu

Having coffee is an integral part of the day for most people, whether it’s for a necessary energy boost before a long shift at work or a simple pick-me-up to unwind in the afternoon.

Since it’s International Coffee Day, it’s only right that we celebrate with a cup or two, no?

From signature blends to global concoctions, here are five must-try espresso-based beverages from your favorite city cafes:

The Neighborhood Cafe (@neighborhoodcafe_cebu)

New on the menu of this quaint all-day breakfast joint is the Cafe con Leche, a delightful combination of espresso, steamed milk and condensed milk—available hot or over ice. It’s perfect for those who like their coffee creamy and a tad sweet.

The Neighborhood Cafe is located on Fortich St., Banawa, Cebu City.

Tightrope Coffee (@tightropecoffee)

One of the cafe’s specialties is the Spanish Latte, made with single-origin double espresso, milk and a secret white sauce. If you’re lactose intolerant or just simply looking to switch it up, you can upgrade to oat milk.

Tightrope Coffee has branches in F. Cabahug St., Mabolo and Velez Medical Arts Building along Ramos St., Cebu City.

Spence Cafe & Kitchen (@spencecebu)

The Saigon Egg Coffee is a deconstructed drink inspired by the original Vietnamese coffee. In one cup is 100 percent pure arabica espresso instead of the traditional robusta; in another cup is a cream mixture of sugar, condensed milk and fresh egg. These two are then mixed together to experience the full-bodied taste of the beverage.

Spence Cafe & Kitchen is located on the ground floor of Solinea Tower 2, Cebu Business Park.

Sip Café (@sipcafe_ph)

Sip’s Signature Latte is an indulgent take on a classic. Espresso and milk are mixed with a combo of rich vanilla and caramel sauce, topped with a light, silky mousse and then finally, drizzled with caramel.

Sip Café has outlets in Streetscape Mall, Banilad and Camia Building, Capitol Site (behind Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital).

32 Umber Café & Co. (@32umber)

32 Umber puts a tropical twist on the classic cold brew with its White Coconut Cold Brew. It starts with the cafe’s signature cold brew (which is made with coffee beans from a specialty roaster in Manila, steeped for 18 hours at a specific temperature for less acidity), mixed with slightly sweetened coconut milk, and then topped with locally sourced cacao nibs.

32 Umber Café & Co. is located at The Forum, Archbishop Reyes Ave., Cebu City.
