THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Northern Mindanao has welcomed its new chief in a simple turnover ceremony held recently.
Lawyer Romulo Manapsal recently took over the place of NBI regional director and lawyer Jose Justo Yap, who was transferred to NBI Southern Mindanao based in Davao City.
"Biglaan kasi ang order from the central office dahil kailangan lang talaga," Yap told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro by phone Monday.
Manapsal served as director of the agency's Central Visayas office before he was assigned to Davao where he served as director for six years. He is a native of Iligan City but grew up in Cebu City.
Yap said he is not certain if the swapping is just temporary but since it’s part of their job, they have to follow orders.
“Besides, hindi lang naman kami ni Director Manapsal ang nag-swap. Ang NBI director sa Cotabato, pinalitan din at na-transfer to Region I (Ilocos Region),” Yap said.
