TALISAY City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas and Representative Pablo John “PJ” Garcia filed Friday, October 1, their certificate of candidacy (COC) for congressman of the First and Third Districts of Cebu Province, respectively.
Garcia filed his COC at 8:29 a.m. Friday, followed by Gullas, who also arrived at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Provincial Office Friday morning.
“First day. First hour. First to file. Di ni nato langayon. Buhat ang pasultion. #PadayonJud,” said Garcia in a Facebook post.
Aside from Garcia and Gullas, Yoly Daan and Raul Bacaltos also filed their COCs for Cebu Provincial Board members.
Daan and Bacaltos joined Gullas during the filing Friday.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and several mayors of the First District of Cebu also went to the Comelec provincial office to show her support to Gullas, Daan and Bacaltos.
The COC filing started Friday, October 1, and will end on October 8.
The Comelec earlier extended the voter registration until October 31. (ANV/Amper Campaña/LMY)
