SELECTED malls in Cebu City will still hold satellite voters registration activites starting Oct. 11, 2021 until Oct. 30.

This was confirmed by Cebu City North District elections officer and lawyer Chaunsey Boholst on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.

Boholst told reporters that the first week of the resumption of the voters’ registration will be held at Robinson’s Galleria, while the second week will be held at the Ayala Central Bloc at IT Park in Barangay Apas and the following week until the last day of the extension will be held at the Ayala Center Cebu.

“Sa second week, ang south district residents (will be held) sa SM Seaside, pero sa other weeks, magtipon ang south ug north (districts),” he added.

Meanwhile, Boholst said they have not received any certificate of candidacy (COC) during the second day of filing on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Boholst believes that most aspiring candidates would often file their COCs on the last day or on Oct. 8 due to traditional belief that doing something during the 8th day of the month will bring good luck or to see who are their potential opponents in the coming elections.

Boholst said they will still accomodate the submission of COCs at their office even on a Sunday.

As of this writing, only one aspirant, businessman and former seaman and teacher Gian Aznar, 31, has filed his COC as he vies a seat in the Council for Cebu City North District. (WBS)
