COUNCILOR aspirant Aurelio Brenz Gonzales Jr. filed his certificate of candidacy on Friday, October 1, 2021, before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, assisted by his sister Mica Gonzales and Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr.
Mica is running for board member of Pampanga’s Third District while reelectionist Representative Gonzales is seeking another term as representative of the same district.
The city councilor aspirant is running under the local party Kambilan, joining the ticket of mayoralty candidate Rosve Henson. Gonzales is the youngest candidate of the team and arguably among all city council aspirants of the city.
The younger Gonzales is pinning his platform agenda mainly on youth empowerment, education and infrastructure. Gonzales said city governance should give more opportunities for the youth in terms of programs for skills development, sports and even social and medical support. Gonzales is also looking at a stronger and more accessible education program in the city for all sectors and ages.
“Infrastructure is also a key area where the city should also look into. Better infrastructure means better services for the people,” Gonzales added.
Gonzales, 25, is a true-blue Fernandino, having been raised in Barangay Dolores. Brenz completed his preparatory years at Mary the Queen Academy of Pampanga in Cabalantian, in nearby Bacolor town. When his father was elected as congressman in 2007, Brenz transferred to Ateneo De Manila for high school and, then, to De La Salle University where he acquired his degree in Civil Engineering.
After graduating in 2018, Brenz took the board exams and passed with a grade average of 84.
It was a short celebration of his educational accomplishments as Brenz immediately took his first job as site engineer at Megaworld Corp. in Taguig City.
Gaining enough experience in the construction industry, Brenz resigned from his work and assumed the position of president and chief executive officer of AD Gonzales Jr. Construction Corp., an “AAA” category construction firm built by his father.
