I HAVE been teaching research in nursing for so many years, and every year it has been easier for me to impart about it. Maybe because I always find time to continue learning and re-learning. And most of all, I have always been open to new knowledge from experts, colleagues, and friends too.

Honestly speaking, I am more comfortable with the qualitative study because I love finding the meaning of study participants' narratives. I am not much engrossed with numbers or statistics, but I am slowly learning to love it with patience to learn it by heart. But then again, my thirst to know more about research led me to find books to read and webinars to attend. And I feel ignited to share it with people in the field of research.

Last Saturday, I almost forgot that I had a webinar to attend about research. My friend Melba Gabuya sent me a message that in thirty minutes, the webinar would begin. I was at that time lying in bed, ready to rest after a whole day of class. However, because it was about research, I said I could not just grab this opportunity.

So, I entered the zoom early, and wow, I saw the speaker Dr. Arthelo P. Palma. Oh, he appears to be very young. And I saw his smile, very accommodating. This has added my interest to listen about how to do academic research the easier way. By the way, I have learned that Dr. Palma is a certified, accredited Filipino author with three books already published. He is the research director of Brokenshire College, a research consultant, and currently earning units in law school. Wow, but with all his achievements, I find Dr. Palma very humble and grounded.

The webinar reached one hour and a half, and boom, I enjoyed it because I remember the basics of research. It was delivered so simple, more straightforward than everyone could comprehend. What made me more interested in his simplified steps to follow in conducting research. Again, I have heard from Dr. Palma what is deductive and inductive reasoning; this may not be new to me, but how it was presented was clear and concise.

I would say that those topics I have learned before, which took me time to absorb, were now easier. This strategy that Dr. Palma formulated by himself would aid researchers in conducting studies the simpler way. In the webinar, we were also given exercises to use our critical thinking analysis, helping us to think independently.

And so, after the webinar, instead of sleeping which was my original plan before the webinar. I was still at high trying to search where I found Dr. Palmas’ published books. Finally, I saw one at Shopee, and it was so fast for me to click "buy" because I know this is worth it for keeps. I am excited to experience what Melba says about Dr. Palmas' recent book entitled "Academic Research, the Easier Way. In his book, one could feel the words and would always look forward to reading."
