DAVAO City's migrant workers scheduled to travel abroad in two weeks but do not have online access to secure an internationally accepted Covid-19 vaccination certificate will soon be assisted by the City Government through a Digital Vax Certificate booth, which will be established within this week at the Teen Center Facility near People's Park.

Migrant workers travelling abroad in two weeks can personally go to the Digital Vax Certificate booth set up by the City Government for them get the Digital Vaccination Certificate, which is created following standards of the World Health Organization and is internationally recognized and accepted in foreign jurisdictions.

Vaccination Cluster head Dr. Aldrich So, in a radio interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday, October 4, said the booth is for Davao City residents who do not have internet access but are required to get vaccination certificates to travel abroad.

Davao City has been chosen for the pilot implementation of the digital vaccination certificate, which can be done only online through https://vaxcert.doh.gov.ph/.

“So for example wala moy’ capacity to do it online, online gihapon siya pero diri buhaton sa amoa, to assist you and pwede pud mag print og certificate (So, for example, you cannot do it online, we can do it for you but it is still online and someone will assist you and can print the certificate),” he said.

So said the booth currently caters to those overseas Filipino workers who are required to secure a digital vaccination certificate.

“Pero we are requesting, since bag-o pa siya, kadto sa among i-cater kadtong mag travel abroad in the next two weeks, kay basin tanan pud tawo mangadto diri since isa palang ang among booth among area (But we are requesting, since it is still new, we will only cater those who are travelling abroad in the next two weeks, because people might flock in our booth, and we only have one),” So added.

He said the booth will be expanded, if needed, after one month of operation.

Those who seek to get the Digital Vaccination Certificates only need to bring their vaccination card and their identification cards. Those who lost their vaccination cards will have to bring their affidavit of loss to get another vaccination card.

So assured that the database for all the vaccinated individuals in the city is all accounted for.

Apart from the booth put up by the City Government, OFWs who seek to get their digital vaccination certification also have an option to go to the office of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), located at F. Torres St, Poblacion District, Davao City.

During the same radio program, Engr. Albert Gabriel of the DICT Mindanao Cluster said the vaccination certificate was supposed to be rolled out nationwide this week but did not push through due to needed minor adjustments.

“Gi-move ang schedule for the implementation for the whole country, and also for Region 11, pero sa karon ang ginabuhat sa DICT, is naga- conduct mi og orientation, og unsaon pag handle aning vaccination certificate unsaon pag set up sa booth unsa ang kinahanglanon sa LGUs to prepare para makahatag sila ug vaccination certificate sa publiko (The schedule for the nationwide implementation and for Region 11, but right now, DICT is conducting orientation, how to handle this vaccination certificate, and how to set up booth and advise LGUs what to prepare for the rollout of the vaccination certificate to the public),” he said.
