Zero Covid deaths again in Cagayan de Oro

FOR the second consecutive day this week, the City Health Office reported zero deaths from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and a continuous decline in the number of new infections.

The City Health Office on Tuesday, October 5, reported 17 new Covid-19 cases, one of whom was a locally stranded individual (LSI) and 16 were local transmissions.

The new infections brought the cumulative case count to 19,662.

Of the 17 new confirmed cases, 10 were local index cases, three were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one Apor with link.

Cagayan de Oro also recorded a drop in the number of active cases, which is at 2,028. Of the figure, 518 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,495 were outpatients, and 14 ROFs/LSIs.

The number of coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered" increased after the city registered 229 new recoveries. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 16,806.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remains at 828.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated individuals who tested positive for coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro is now at 4,840.

Of the 4,840 vaccinees, 3,011 were vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine; 906 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca; 321 with Pfizer; 284 with Sputnik V; 290 with Janssen; six with Sinopharm; 22 with Moderna.
