MORE business establishments in Bacolod received their Safety Seal certificates recently, a press statement from the City Government said Tuesday, October 5.

It added that the members of the Safety Seal Committee of the City led the distribution of certificates.

At SM City mall, Mang Inasal, Surplus, McDonald's, Greenwich, SM Appliance, Nike (Sport Central), Payless Shoe Store received their certificates on September 30 while at the Ayala Capitol Central mall Uniqlo, Chowking, Abenson, Starbucks, Yellowcab, Mumuso, and Bench also received theirs on the same day.

On October 1, the City Government also awarded the safety seals were Jollibee Sum-ag branch, Mang Inasal CityMall Goldenfields branch, JD Feeling Lucky Inc. at Metrodome, Mang Inasal Libertad branch, Jollibee Libertad branch, Ubiquity call center, Greenwich Lopues East, Chowking EraMall, Mang Inasal Centroplex, Jollibee Plaza, Chowking Lagoon, Jollibee NorthDrive, Mang Inasal Northdrive, and Jollibee La Salle.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia had said that this DILG scheme will identify outright what establishments are health protocol-compliant so that people will be guided accordingly.

"While this is voluntary, we encourage as many to apply because this is good for business," the mayor said.

Permits and Licensing Office head Stela Rayos, who chairs the Safety Seal Committee, said that more business establishments are scheduled to be awarded with the same certificate soon.

As per online verification/calibration and on-site validation of the Inspection and Certification Team of the Safety Seal Committee, 52 of the 237 business establishments applying for the Safety Seal certificate have so far passed the validation.

Of the 52 passers, 28 have been awarded with the certificates last September 30 and October 1.

But Rayos clarified that the other companies, which have defects/deficiencies in their documents, can re-apply until they fully comply with the requirements.

For online application, visit the Facebook page of the Bacolod Permits and Licensing Office via "Bacolod Permits."

Rayos stressed that only business establishments with valid Mayor's Permits (2021) are eligible to apply for a certificate of Safety Seal.

The Safety Seal Certification Program was launched to affirm and acknowledge that an establishment or public transportation unit is compliant with minimum public health standards, is using or has integrated StaySafe.ph with its contact-tracing method, and is a holder of the requisite business permits or franchise.

Those who are awarded with a Safety Seal certificate shall be allowed an additional 10 percent beyond the prescribed on-site capacity, as per IATF Resolution 127-A series of 2021. (PR)
