Former Noceco president files candidacy for board member

FORMER Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (Noceco) president Rolito "Board Boyet" Espinosa filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Board Member of the Fifth District on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

He filed his COC at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City where the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the province temporarily holds office.

Espinosa was the third candidate to file his candidacy for board member in the Fifth District since the filing started on October 1, 2021.

He is being supported by incumbent Fifth District Representative Ma. Lourdes "Marilou" Arroyo.

Meanwhile, more incumbent local chief executives and other officials in Negros Occidental filed their respective COCs on Tuesday, October 5.

They were Himamaylan City Mayor Raymond Tongson of the United Negros Alliance (Unega), Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco and Vice Mayor Raul Rivera of Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), and Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Marxlen dela Cruz and brother Vice Mayor Nehemias dela Cruz.

The Zayco-Rivera tandem was accompanied by former mayor Isidro Zayco, Sixth District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola and Representative Genaro Alvarez also of the Sixth district.
