SENATOR Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, filed their certificates for candidacy (COC) for president and vice president, respectively, for the 2022 national elections.

Lacson and Sotto arrived at the Harbor Garden Tent at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay City at around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

They bumped into former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who also filed his COC for president.

Sotto said they will announce their senatorial slate after the filing of COCs on October 8.

Lacson, in his speech, said the forefront characteristics of their tandem is their capability, honesty and courage which they showcased over the past decades of their service in the government.

He said they aim to restore the trust and confidence of the Filipinos in the government.

Sotto, however, assured that their duties and responsibilities as lawmakers will not be affected and will remain unhampered amid their campaign.

“The best campaign is to work hard. Pumasok ka magtrabaho ka,” he said. (SunStar Philippines)
