Farmer, 76, hangs self in Eastern Samar

POLICE have launched an investigation over an alleged suicide involving a 76-year-old farmer in Salcedo, Eastern Samar.

The victim, a resident of Iberan, Salcedo, was found hanging from the tree with a rope around his neck that caused his death around 9:30 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021.

Authorities said the victim went to their farm alone after lunch on Monday.

The family was worried after the victim did not return home until 7:30 p.m. Monday, prompting them to search for him on the farm.

The victim’s cadaver was brought to their house for post mortem examination.

Police have yet to determine the motive of the incident.
