“No. Very focused on work and raising a daughter. I need a kind, intelligent, faithful, funny, emotionally stable, and successful in his own right type of man; someone who can handle and love all that I am and could also love my children. If there’s no man like that, I’ll just be my own man. I’ll just buy myself and my daughter a beach house someday; that’s all we wish for. (Laughs),” ang iyang tubag sa usa sa mga pangutana nga atong gipada niya courtesy sa Curve Entertainment.

Why did it take you eight years, and what inspired you this time to go back to recording?

I lived in the US for six years, and my life over there was very different: I did a 9-5 job as a beauty and weight loss coach for a medical spa, and when I got home from work, I was a super mama, too. I did concerts on the side, of course, and that’s when I knew that my passion was really singing and performing. When I arrived here last year, I gave my good friend Junji a call right away to ask for a song since I’ve been having a hard time composing a song myself. I just felt it was the right time.

Aside from recording, what keeps you busy these days and how are you coping with this pandemic?

I’ve been busy creating designs for The Smokey Mountain online store. The launch of our Smokey Mountain classic shirts last year was a huge success, and people are still buying them; we even get orders abroad for it, so we decided to add more stuff that people can buy. We have just finished choosing the best fabrics for our soon-to-be-launched hoodies and matching joggers, and I’m really excited about it. It’ll be perfect for Christmas season when the air is a bit cold. I’ve been helping also my daughter with her schooling and spending time with her. And, of course, working online as an influencer— endorsing products that I believe in. You know, a single mother like me has to work double-time! If I am not masipag, I’ll lose a lot of worms! Haha! So I sleep early and wake up early, too.

How do you compare Geneva Cruz eight years ago and now?

Very different. Living in the US made me grow up fast. It taught me to appreciate every little thing I have in my life because sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact. My daughter also had something to do with my growth... having her gave me a stronger purpose as a woman. I just always want to become the best version of myself because I want her to see that. Yes, no person is perfect, but it is always possible to change for the better, and age doesn’t have anything to do with change, and achieving our hopes and dreams in life.

Tutoo bang Kapuso ka na?

Yes. I signed with GMA-7 for a teleserye, and I’m over the moon with happiness. I’m very grateful to GMA for the opportunity to act on TV again, looking forward to start taping and getting to know my castmates and being able to work with my cousin Rodjun Cruz as well.

How have you stayed fit and sexy all these years? I hope you can share your diet and some of your fitness activities.

I like to keep active, but I’m more of the cardio type of gal. I love dancing, so Zumba is one of my favorite online workouts! Plus, I’m currently in quarantine for work, so I brought my yoga mat, kettlebell, yoga block, and elastic bands for whenever I do Barre workout, Pilates, and Bikram yoga. I’m a big fan of Tae Bo, running, and jump roping as well. I’m into the Keto diet, but I give myself a chance to enjoy my favorite desserts now and then. We all have to start watching what we eat because it makes a big difference in keeping a healthy weight. Health really is wealth. Oh, and I sleep early.
