Over 5,000 individuals 12-17 yrs old registered for vaccination in Oro

OVER 5,000 individuals among the age group of 12 to 17 years old in Cagayan de Oro have pre-registered online for the city's vaccination program, the City Health Office reported.

According to Dr. Ted Yu, City Health Office medical officer, they will be prioritizing children with comorbidities in the inoculation of minors against the Covid-19.

The list of comorbidities in children are as follows:

- Medical complexity

- Genetic conditions

- Neurologic conditions

- Metabolic/endocrine conditions

- Cardiovascular disease

- Obesity

- HIV infection

- Tuberculosis

- Chronic respiratory disease

- Renal disorder

- Hepatobiliary

"Ito po yung 11 na medical conditions na ma-prioritize natin sa age group na 12 to 17," Yu said.

Yu encouraged the parents or guardians to register their children 12 to 17 years old for vaccination.

"Open na po yung pre-registration hotline or numbers sa City Health Office vaccination site," Yu said.

The medical officer added that clearance from doctor and consent are also needed before the children with comorbidities receive their vaccine shots.
