EVERYTHING has gone virtual, including a school’s Family Day!

Recognizing the need for continuous interaction among students, Childlink Learning Center and Highschool Inc. introduced its very first Virtual Family Day with the theme: “Linkers, the Game Changers.” It was a fun event for children and parents.

Through this very multi-faceted activity, Childlink showed that despite the pandemic, school activities should continue. Furthermore, this will enable them to do well in online learning.

The school’s Student Council was the “brains” behind the entire concept, from the heavy task of programming to specialized games such as the Quiz Bee, Charades, Art Competition, Scribbl.10 and poem performances on family and peace for the Nursery 2 and Kinder 1 levels.

Toasts to the winners of the Art Competition: Madison Ariane Keh of Team Water (Nursery 2), Mika Borromeo of Team Fire (Kinder 1), Miguel Rentuza of Team Water (Kinder 2), Vienna Ligutan of Team Water (Grade 1), Li Audric Antiporta of Team Wind (Grade 2), Cole Verano of Team Fire (Grade 3), Klayne Wynter Go of Team Earth (Grade 4), Ayeshia Cariquitan of Team

Wind (Grade 5), Renzo Isaiah Bernabe of Team Earth (Grade 6); Archangel Binueza of Team Wind (Grade 7), Lindsay Rojas of Team Water (Grade 8), Seth Marcus Verano of Team Fire (Grade 9) and Lance Andrei Ong of Team Earth (Grade 10).

In an inspiring message during this event, school directress Maria Theresa Tio urged parents to continue supporting the school’s Community Outreach Program for the Rise Above Foundation until end of October. Likewise, a gentle reminder for their children to enlist for the Project Balik Buhay Junior Vaccination Program.

October Activities

A significant and worthwhile list of activities are on schedule for the Z Club of Childlink and Zonta Club of Cebu 2, including an online segment. Subject is an orientation on the goals and ideals of Zonta International affecting each Z Club(composed of High school students) and Golden Z Clubs (composed of college students). This activity is for Oct. 16.

Part Two is a webinar entitled “Caring For Your Well Being” with speaker Karen Espiritu, which will focus on understanding social and mental wellness, and improving on how to relate to oneself and to others.

Come Oct. 23, the Zontians, in collaboration with the Z Club of the school, will commemorate United Nations Day with an online forum on a very relevant issue: “No time to lose: End child marriages now.”

On this day, different child bride stories will be acted out by Z Club of Childlink members, while selected Zontians of Cebu 2, will express support statements for a call to action on this.

In conclusion, Tio announced the school will be accepting students from different areas outside Cebu for their online classes. Aside from this, there’s the Home School Program which offers academic flexibility enabling parents to choose the pace and approach for their children’s modules. This is also an option for those living in areas with poor internet connection.

Tio also added that they offer After School Care Program which are Daily Tutorial Classes for English and Special Education Tutorial for students In preparation for mainstream classes
