Group holds community outreach in Cauayan

SOME residents of Cauayan town in Negros Occidental availed themselves of medical and other services during a community outreach organized by volunteers of the “Padayona Inday Sara” movement recently.

The activity, supported by various riders groups, was part of the initiatives of the Padayona Alliance and Broadcasting Committee Group of Volunteers to convince Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to run for president in the May 2022 elections.

Co-convenor Almer Buño said the riders have already been conducting medical outreach in southern Negros in the past and this time, they again extended assistance to the community to show support to the younger Duterte.

The beneficiaries included 54 for circumcision, 33 senior citizens for medical checkups, a feeding program for 230 individuals, and another 170 residents, who were treated to a boodle fight.

The medical volunteers were led by Dr. Winston de la Cruz, along with midwives and barangay health workers who also assisted the beneficiaries.

Vlogger Erika Embang entertained the residents and gave away cash gifts amounting to P3,000.

Mambugsay councilman Leo Mamigo thanked the “Padayona Inday Sara” volunteers for sponsoring the community outreach for residents of their village.

“The people of Sitio Sibucao appreciate the fun and the prizes, and are grateful for the opportunity to benefit from the medical mission,” he said.

With the health services brought straight to their community, they no longer need to go to the town proper for medical checkups, Mamigo added.

Meanwhile, the volunteer-riders who took part in the community outreach continued to appeal for the Duterte-Carpio to run for president.

Ana Mae Jastillana, president of Himamaylan United Riders, said their group supports the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte if she bids for the highest office in the land.

“We are behind you Ma’am Sara Duterte. We fully support you. We will support your candidacy for president and we hope that you continue what your father has started,” she added.

Zelan Javelosa, Sanggunian Kabataan chairman of Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan City and rider-owner of Blitz 6108, also expressed support for the Davao City mayor.

“Together with my group, I support Ma’am Sara Duterte in this coming presidential election. I hope she will continue her father’s legacy. All of us here in 6108 support you,” he said.

Jun-Jun Ricans, president of YZF R-Series Negros Occidental, said he also hopes that the younger Duterte will decide to run for president.

“We, in the R-Series Negros, support you. We have seen in you the potential to continue the service started by your father. We, the riders, appeal to you. We are behind you and we will support you. Please, Ma’am Sara, padayon lang,” he added.

Other volunteer groups who supported the outreach activity included the Bacolod Eagles Club, Bull Riders Club Kabankalan City Chapter, Discover Cauayan, Cauayan We Can, Lakat Mountaineering Club, Pom Productions, and personnel of Cauayan Municipal Police Station.
