FRUSTRATED murder charges are now readied by the operatives of Bacolod City Police Station 9 against two suspects behind the shooting of an agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday, October 6, 2021.

Police Major Ritchie Gohee, Police Station 9 commander, however, withheld their names pending the filing of the case.

Intelligence Officer 1 Jayson Yayola, 36, of Barangay Canusa in Pulupandan town, Negros Occidental, is still confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City as of Thursday, October 7.

Gohee said the suspects were identified through the testimonies of the witnesses and the footage of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

The victim was heading south of Carlos Hilado High Way in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City on his motorcycle past 9 p.m. when one of the suspects alighted from a car and shot him several times.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, the police said.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime three empty shells of .45 caliber and the issued firearm of the victim.

Gohee said the gunman took the sling bag of Yayola and sped off with his companion. He said the crime could be work-related.
