P50,000 bounty up for capture of suspect in senior high teacher slay

THE family of a public school teacher who was robbed and brutally murdered in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, is offering a P50,000 reward for the swift arrest of the suspect.

Jessica Ducay, 28, was found bathed in her own blood inside her residence in Sitio Canipaan, Barangay Banquerohan past 7 p.m.

Ducay was a senior high school teacher of the Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial High School.

Through footage captured by a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV), the suspect was identified as Delleon del Rosario “alyas Toto,” who is believed to be a resident of Barangay 8 in Bacolod City.

Investigation showed that Ducay was alone in her house when the suspect allegedly barged in stabbed and hit her with hammers.

Del Rosario fled from the crime scene bringing with him Ducay’s P79,000 in cash, the police said.

Recovered from the crime scene were a bladed weapon, two hammers, a cap and a face mask.

Ducay was immediately brought to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic where she was declared dead by the attending physician.

The Cadiz City Police Station is calling on the public who may have knowledge as to the whereabouts of del Rosario to immediately contact them through 09981782240.

On her Facebook account, the friends and colleagues of Ducay are calling for justice on her untimely death.
