FAST-RISING strawweight prospect Lito Adiwang finally headlines his first ONE Championship event as he takes on former UFC fighter Jarred Brooks in ONE – “NEXTGEN III” on Nov. 26, 2021 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
The 28-year-old Adiwang has shown that he’s one of the most exciting fighters in the ONE Championship cage. He once again put on a show in his latest outing, wherein he beat Chinese fighter Hexigetu by unanimous decision on Sept. 24.
Adiwang started out at ONE’s developmental league ONE Warrior Series in 2018. Adiwang earned a ONE Championship contract following impressive wins over Jose Huerta, Alber Correia and Anthony Do.
Adiwang made his ONE Championship debut in 2019 with a first round stoppage, due to an arm injury, over Senzo Ikeda. He won a first round kimura submission of Pongsiri Mitsatit in his second fight before suffering a split decision defeat to Hiroba Minowa in 2020.
Adiwang, who trains under the guidance of Mark Sangiao at Team Lakay, bounced back in 2021 with back-to-back wins over Namiki Kawahara and Hixigetu.
The 28-year-old Brooks is making his ONE Championship debut against Adiwang. He had a four-fight stint in the UFC and fought in other renowned MMA organizations like Bellator, World Series of Fighting, Pancrase and RIZIN.
Brooks had a successful UFC debut with a split decision over Eric Shelton. He lost his next two fights against former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Jose Torres before winning a split decision over Roberto Sanchez in his last UFC fight. After his stint in the UFC, he fought in two different organizations, wherein he won both fights, one against Victor Altamirano via a rear-naked choke in Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting and a unanimous decision over Haruo Ochi in Bellator.
Adiwang has 13 wins and three losses, while Brooks has 16 victories and two defeats.
