MAYOR Oscar Tetangco Jr. and Vice Mayor Peter Nucom of Apalit town in Pampanga are running unopposed in the coming 2022 polls.
As of 5 p.m. of October 8, the last day of filing of candidacies, the local Commission on Elections said no one has come forward to challenge the incumbency of the two top officials.
Tetangco welcomed the news and expressed gratitude to Apaliteños who continue to support his leadership and partnership with Nucom.
"Congratulations sa bayan ng Apalit dahil instead na mamulitika pa kami sa darating na halalan, mas makakapagfocus po kami sa trabaho namin sa munisipyo," he said.
Nucom, for his part, likewise assured Apaliteños of the continuous programs and projects for the betterment of their municipality.
"Despite po na wala kaming kalaban, hindi po ito ibig sabihin na magiging kumpyansa kami kundi mas magtatrabaho kami dahil sa mas malaking tiwala na ibinigay ninyo sa amin ngayon," he said.
The two top officials are leading the unity ticket, which is composed of all the eight incumbent councilors of the town.
