THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City has urged registrants to bring their complete requirements before lining up for voter registration, which resumed Monday, October 11.

City Election Officer lawyer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said that some of the registrants were lining up with incomplete requirements.

Trinio-Caña said this is causing delays in their operation because some of them will insist to be accommodated again once they return on their line.

"We have thousands of registrants who are lining up, but some have no identification cards (IDs) or photocopy of such documents," she said.

She added the registrants should bring their IDs with photocopy, and birth certificate for those 18 to 19 years-old.

If their residence is not stated on the ID, they should bring proof of their residence or billing statements, like water bills or electric bills.

For those who do not have an ID, they should bring their guarantor with the photocopy of the latter's ID.

The Comelec clarified that it is not accepting the barangay certification or certificate of residency coming from the barangay, as well as police clearance.

The voter registration will be until October 30, 2021. It will be at the SM City Mall from October 11 to 13.

On October 14, 18 and 19, the voter registration will be held at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and at Robinsons Place Bacolod on October 20 to 22.

The registration will start from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trinio-Caña said they are still waiting for confirmation from the University of St. La Salle (USLS)-Bacolod for the last week of voter registration to be held at the university's coliseum.

The Comelec earlier held the voter registration at USLS-Bacolod where they recorded a total of 2,075 registrants.

Of the number, 1,283 were new registrants and 455 were transferees from various cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental.
