Capitol turns over irrigation project in Isabela

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has turned over the Marikudo Irrigation Project located in Barangay Camang-camang, Isabela town on Monday, October 11.

The project costs P1.9 million, having a service area of 35 hectares, with Guintubhan River as the water source.

The farmer-beneficiaries also received farm machinery and equipment from the Provincial Government.

These include 4WD tractor, combine harvester, granule applicator, ride-on transplanter, and mobile recirculating dryer.

They also received high value fruit tree seedlings and high value crops seeds.

The Marikudo Farmers Small Water Irrigation System Association will manage and oversee the project operations.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover along with Mayor Irene Montilla, Officer-In-Charge Provincial Agriculturist Dina Genzola, Marikudo Tribe chieftain Rolando Enario, Milina Jeruta of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)-Negros Occidental, Barangay Camang-camang Punong Barangay Renato Nicolas, and other local officials.
