THE Philippines continues to experience disastrous fires, often marking some of the worst fire incidents in history. On Aug. 19, 2021 a blazing fire broke out at in Purok 1, Buru-un, Iligan City, leaving 88 families homeless and in despair. Upon hearing the newsflash, M Lhuillier in the Lanao Region headed by Marites Melitante, together with its officers, wasted no time in helping the Buru-un fire victims. The affected families received basic goods such as rice, noodles, canned goods and hygiene commodities to initially relieve them. The local government, spearheaded by Brgy. Councilor Robert Trazo, managed the distribution.
Meanwhile, on Aug. 5, another fire incident happened in Purok Tisa Sangi, Toledo City. There were five families whose houses were left to ashes and a total of 21 individuals were affected by the incident. M Lhuillier took the initiative to visit the victims and provide them with grocery packages that would suffice for the evacuation.

On a separate occasion on Aug. 18, about 116 families and over 200 individuals were displaced during a fire incident in Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City. Five days thereafter, the ML Cares foundation visited the posted temporary shelter situated at Southcom Village Elementary School, Zamboanga City to deliver primary needs such as rice, masks and towels for the fire victims.
