120 beneficiaries receive medical, burial assistance

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran led the second day of distribution of medical and burial assistance to the second batch of 120 beneficiaries at the Bacolod City Government Center Thursday, October 14, 2021.

The recipients are among the 360 indigents who are qualified to receive assistance from the local government.

Thursday, the first batch of 120 beneficiaries received the same assistance from the city.

The Bulig Ini nga Gugma Program, headed by City consultant Marlon Solidum, is facilitating the distribution of rhe financial help for three days, October 13 to 15.

In his message, Leonardia again urged the beneficiaries to have themselves and their families vaccinated. Our best defense against Covid-19 is the vaccine, he said.

Familiaran told the beneficiaries that 95 percent of Covid-19 deaths in Bacolod were the unvaccinated.’

“In Bacolod, no one died of Covid vaccines. Think it over,” the vice mayor added.

Joining them at the distribution rites today are Councilor Archie Baribar, Councilor Carl Lopez, Councilor Israel Salanga, Emergency Operations Center-Task Force Executive Director Em Ang, City Hall Consultant Marlon Solidum, and Grupo Progreso members Jonathan Diaz and Ed Guillem.
