DA honors outstanding women of Central Luzon

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) for Central Luzon honored outstanding women in the agriculture and fisheries sector with the theme “Recognizing Juana during the Pandemic” on October 12, 2021.

The event was under the leadership of the Gender and Development Focal Point System and was held at the DA Conference Hall inside the Capitol Compound in the City of San Fernando.

The recognition is held annually by the department to recognize women who make outstanding contributions to the agriculture and fisheries sector.

“Through our Gender and Development Program, we also aim to give women the opportunity to participate in more aspects of life and livelihood and to recognize and value their support to the family, the community and the economy of the country. Honoring the unique women that we do is a way to inspire women to stand out, identify and show elegance,” Regional GAD Focal Person of Central Luzon Dr. Irene M. Adion said.

The honored women for the year 2021 include Outstanding Young Farmer - Andrea Lindsay B. Duran from Barangay Basuit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Outstanding Women Educator - Redemcion E. Ramoso from Barangay Sto. Christ, Mary Aurora, Aurora; Outstanding Women Entrepreneur - Aurora F. Manglicmot from Barangay Laoag, Cabangan, Zambales and Outstanding Rural Women - Annette C. Patdu from Barangay Sta. Barbara, Bacolor, Pampanga.
