3 more sexual abuse victims of Aussie surface

MABALACAT City Mayor Cris Garbo said that three more victims of sexual abuse by a 72-year old Australian national had surfaced.

This after Geoffrey John Chapman, 72, a resident of Barangay San Joaquin was arrested by the city police.

Chapman was charged for allegedly raping his four-year -old stepdaughter in May 2021.

The mayor said some of Chapman's alleged victims are his neighbors.

Garbo said the local police is now preparing additional charges against Chapman. The Australian was arrested on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Palace Hotel in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City.

Lieutenant Colonel Soledad Elefanio, head of the Mabalacat City police, said Chapman was tagged as top 7 most wanted person in Mabalacat City.

Chapman was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant dated September 22, 2021 issued by Judge Katrina Nora S. Buan of the Family Court Branch 10 in Angeles City.

The case filed against him is rape by sexual assault under Criminal Case Number R-ANG-21-02692-CR with a recommended bail of P200,000.

The Australian national was charged for allegedly raping his four-year-old step daugther on May 31, 2021.

"The successfull arrest of the accused who is included in our list as Top 7 Most Wanted Person of Mabalacat City was a result of effort to place lawless elements behind the bars of justice which is in line with the directive of our regional director, PBGen. Valeriano Deleon," Elefanio said.
