BOLSTERED by its military might and solid and growing economy, mainland China has moved on to complete reunification, annexing, first, Hong Kong, and now, Taiwan.
A bully by any standard and known by other nations, China made intrusions of some 142 warplanes into Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone to make known its intentions.
This aggressive posture of China may ripen into an anticipated global war, if not nipped in the bud, so to speak, by sympathetic nations such as the US, UK, Japan and France.
Mainland China, through Xi Jin Ping, is hell-bent on annexing this tiny island-state but its president, Tsai Ing-wen vows she would not bow to pressure no matter what.
Meanwhile, the US and the other civilized nations are keen on monitoring the aggressive stance of the Chinese and are ready to defend Taiwan should push come to shove.
Already, the US has deployed its carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt at the Taiwan Strait ready to pounce on any Chinese aggressive move.
If mainland China would go on with its belligerence, it would not be far-fetched that the world may yet see another world war. Heaven forbid!

Team Boking has filed its complete slate for the May 2022 elections at the Comelec Mabalacat City on October 8, 2021, with Vice Mayor candidate Christian Halili making his comeback.
The councilors for this team are: Bok Tiglao, Carlo Nino Rivera, Jerry Basilio, Joey Cosme Liwanag, Ike Morales, Jun de Leon, Jeng Yumul, Eddie Sotto and Mel Yutuc.
Dwight Morales, a former City councilor will aim for a Board Member position. Dwight is alright, alright si Dwight!
Jorge "Patrol" Bustos will again gun for the congressman slot.
I shall try to get the official Councilors line-up of City Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo with Atty. Geld P. Aquino as his running mate. Anyway, I remember the names of Dr. Cocoy Tiglao, Jun Castro and Nino "RS" delos Reyes as forming part of Garbo's slate.
It will be an interesting match-up between former mayor Boking and the incumbent City Mayor Cris. Ditto with VM Geld and former vice mayor Christian.
