THERE are almost two million Covid-19 vaccines which remain unutilized in Central Visayas.
This was the report of the Visayas Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) on its briefing on Monday, October 18, 2021 as it once again lamented the "disappointing" figures of the region's lagging vaccination.
"We have a lot of vaccines in Region 7 [Central Visayas] including Metro Cebu but apparently our vaccination has halted. Parang andun tayo sa stoppage, kumbaga parang nasa area tayo where wala nang tumatakbo and hindi na gumagana yung ating pagbabakuna (It seemed like we are at a stoppage, like we are at an area where no one is running and our vaccination no longer works)," VVOC spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said.
The region received 5,249,630 Covid-19 vaccine doses as of October 15, 2021.
"As of October 10, our Philippine coverage vaccination, we have almost two million doses of vaccines for Region 7 unutilized. It means we have a lot of supply of vaccines but our vaccinees, they are the ones we are not seeing in our vaccination centers," she said. (JOB)
