AROUND 260 indigent public school students from Tuburan town, northwestern Cebu received cash assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and a partylist.

The cash assistance was formally given to the beneficiaries through a formal distribution led by Tuburan Vice Mayor Danilo Diamante, Representative Alfred Delos Santos of the Ang Probinsyano Partylist and DSWD representatives.

The distribution was made through the DSWD's Education Assistance program.

Elementary school students received P1,000 while junior high school students received P1,500.

While senior high school students received P3,000.

Delos Santos said they've chosen Tuburan after the municipal government was able to submit the names of their beneficiaries to their office.

Though the aid is from DSWD, the partylist only facilitates in identifying the beneficiaries. (PAC with PR)
