THE one and only “Crystal Voice of Asia,” Cebu’s very own Sheryn Regis, will hold her first-ever digital concert “Love United.” It will be on Oct. 23 via KTX.ph, iWantTFC and TFC IPTV, at 8 p.m. with a rerun on the following day at 10 a.m.
The show is a “collaborative effort,” said the singer. She exerted effort in rehearsing the musical numbers, especially those with her guests who are also great artists in their own right like viral sensation Ez Mil (who will do a ballad with Sheryn), “Tawag ng Tanghalan” finalist Froilan Canlas, the TNT Boys, child singing prodigy Kaela Francheska and Filipino pop-rapper H-Bom.
Sheryn will also do “Tulad ng Dati” and her latest single “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,” which was originally written in English by Sheryn herself.
Most of her songs though are those promoting love, hope, inspiration and healing, which Sheryn believes are what people need at this time of the pandemic.
The singer also has something for her fellow Cebuanos. She incorporates some Cebuano lyrics to a few songs.
She admitted that performing sans audiences is a big challenge for her as performers usually draw strength and energy from the applause of spectators. She however, assures that she will bring the audience to the concert stage digitally.
Sheryn came back to the country last year as she really wanted to revive her singing career not knowing she’d be staying here longer than planned because of the lockdown due to the pandemic.
She was awed at how the local music industry has evolved and how the composers are becoming better. She likened musicians to teachers and students who never stop learning, justifying her newly acquired knack for “hugot songs” especially those by Moira dela Torre, Ben&Ben and others. She admitted that she’s also a Kpop fan, especially of BTS.
She’s very grateful to ABS-CBN for the support and trust the network has shown her. She wishes to do collaborations with “The Champions,” namely Jed Madela, Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go, Erik Santos, Frenchie Dy, Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista and others.
