Pabustan takes on world-ranked Bell

FORMER world title challenger Jetro Pabustan takes on unbeaten world-rated super featherweight Albert Bell in the main event of “Friday Fight Nights” on Oct. 23 (PH time) at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.

Pabustan is coming in as an underdog with a huge height and reach disadvantage against the towering Bell.

Bell stands at 6’0” and is five inches taller than Pabusta, who’s 5’7”.

Pabustan has not fought for over a year since losing to Pete Apolinar by unanimous decision in Mandaue City in 2020.

Pabustan fought for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight belt against Panya Uthok but lost via a third round technical decision. The fight was stopped prematurely after Pabustan suffered a huge cut on his left eyebrow from an accidental headbutt.

Pabustan is also a former WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion with a win over Tatsuya Takahashi in Japan in 2017.

Bell, on the other hand, is a rising super featherweight. He’s coming off a unanimous decision over Julio Cortez on Aug. 14, 2021. He also owns wins over Andy Vences and Filipino Mark Bernaldez.

Bell is currently rated No. 7 in the WBO super featherweight, wherein Jamel Herring is the current titleholder.

Pabustan is 30-8-6 with nine knockouts, while Bell is 19-0 with five knockouts.
