OVER two million more coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines have arrived in the country since Thursday evening, October 22, 2021.
National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. welcomed Thursday evening the arrival of government-procured 1,014,390 doses of Pfizer vaccines, as well as of 400,000 vials of Sputnik V at the Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Galvez said Cebu and Davao will each get 100,629 doses of the Pfizer vaccines and the remaining 813,150 doses will be distributed in Metro Manila.
On Friday morning, October 22, 698,600 doses of Aztrazeneca vaccines procured by the private sector also arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1.
The arrival of the vaccines added up to the over 90 million Covid-19 vaccines that arrived in the Philippines since February 2021.
Galvez said a total of 53,838,248 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide.
A total of 24,876,889 individuals have been fully vaccinated so far while 28,961,359 received their first dose.
Galvez earlier said the country will reach 100 million Covid-19 vaccines on stockpile by the end of October. (SunStar Philippines)
