New cops asked to be instrument of change

A TOP police official in Central Luzon has asked new police recruits to strive hard to become an instrument of change.

Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, director of the Central Luzon police, said this to the 231 new cops when they took their oath inside this camp on Frida, October 22, 2021.

After the oathtaking, the police recruits will undergo one-year training at the Regional Training School in Magalang, Pampanga, according to De Leon.

Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD), presented the new cops to De Leon who administered their oath of office.

De Leon said the 231 successful applicants will fill up the slots for the Patrolman Attrition Quota for CY 2021 to increase police manpower strength, improve the police-to-population ratio, and enhance the police visibility program and anti-insurgency operation of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The PRO-Central Luzon director also told the new police recruits to strive hard to fulfill the goals of the PNP.

"Do not waste the opportunities given to you and always remember that many were called to join but you are fortunate to be chosen,” De Leon said.

The new police personnel was chosen after a stringent screening process conducted by the Regional Screening Committee on Recruitment headed by Brigadier General Narciso Domingo, deputy regional director for administration. (Ric Sapnu)
