Kapampangans join caravan for Leni-Kiko

THOUSANDS of Kapampangans have joined the "pink caravan" on Saturday, October 23, 2021, to show support to the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo and the vice-presidential bid of Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

Supporters of the said tandem took different modes of transportations including cars, jeeps, trucks, motorcycles, pedicabs and bikes -- all decorated with pink ribbons, balloons, stickers, and tarpaulins -- in solidarity with the Pink Caravan simultaneously held in other provinces.

The Pink Caravan, which were organized by multi-sectoral volunteers, were also reportedly held in Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga, Benguet, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bulacan, Quezon, Batangas, Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, the Bicol region, Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Davao, Agusan del Sur and Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City and part of Metro Manila on the same day.

In Pampanga, more than 500 vehicles joined the said parade, which traveled from Angeles City going to the City of San Fernando, Mexico, Sta. Ana and Arayat.

Individuals who were not able to join the parade were also seen going outside their houses and waving pink ribbons, ties, flaglets or clothes as the fleet of vehicles passed by.

One of the tandem's supporters, Ian Lawerence Santos, said the caravan was the new kind of People Power as Filipinos rallied for decent and honest leadership in the country.

Robredo and Pangilinan expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and effort shown by volunteers through the simultaneous nationwide proclamation motorcade.

In return, the duo vowed to continue leading the fight for the Filipino people and the country.
