BELOW 100 daily cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have been recorded in Eastern Visayas for three consecutive days, while the number of recoveries continued to increase.
On Monday, October 25, the region recorded 39 new cases and 86 new recoveries, bringing its total number of Covid-19 cases to 50,468 with total recoveries of 49,382 (97.85 percent), 553 deaths (1.10 percent), and 533 active cases (1.06 percent).
The 39 new cases were recorded out of 433 laboratory samples tested in three laboratories, representing a nine percent positivity rate.
The new confirmed cases are from Tacloban City (6), Leyte province (6), Southern Leyte (20), Northern Samar (3), Samar (2), and Biliran (2).
On Sunday, October 24, Eastern Visayas logged 92 new cases out of 1,002 laboratory samples, representing a nine percent positivity rate.
Another 98 recoveries were reported on the said date.
On Saturday, October 23, an additional 23 new cases and 66 recoveries were reported.
The Department of Health (DOH)-Eastern Visayas reminded the public anew to avail themselves of the free vaccination against Covid-19.
On October 23 alone, a total of 27,210 doses of vaccines were delivered in the region.
The vaccines included 8,560 doses of AstraZeneca, 12,800 doses of Sinovac, and 5,850 doses of Pfizer.
