Who doesn’t love pasta? They come in an assortment of fun shapes and sizes, and the possibilities in terms of preparation and execution are endless. In case you didn’t know, Oct. 25 was World Pasta Day.
People love pasta so much that they made a global holiday for it. If you’re craving a plate or two (don’t worry, we don’t judge), here are some recommendations:

One of the staple items from Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton’s restaurant and bar is the Linguine Nero, a luxurious take on squid ink pasta. The dish consists of squid ink linguine in a creamy bisque with salsa verde, and an assortment of proteins such as chorizo, clams, squid and shrimp. The Pig & Palm is located in MSY Tower, Pescadores Road, Cebu Business Park.

From the pasta itself to the filling and sauce, everything in Sip’s best-selling Butternut Ravioli is made from scratch in house. A blend of smooth butternut squash puree and cheese is tucked inside succulent ravioli, smothered in a creamy white sauce and topped with chopped walnuts for a little crunch. Sip Café has branches in Streetscape Mall, Banilad and Camia Building, Capitol Site.

Nothing can beat the nostalgia and comfort a plate of good ol’ spaghetti and meatballs can bring.
Spence’s take on this Italian classic consists of al dente spaghetti in a chunky tomato sauce, topped with melted cheese, and of course, three hearty meatballs. Spence Cafe and Kitchen is located on the ground floor of Solinea Tower 2 in Cebu Business Park.
Joey’s Table by Pasta Bella (@joeystable)
After a two-year hiatus, loyal patrons will be glad to know that Pasta Bella has found a new home in Mactan (along with a slightly different name). The menu includes a beloved best-seller, the Aglio e Olio a la Joey, which is spaghetti tossed in sautéed garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, and then topped with parsley and parmesan. Joey’s Table by Pasta Bella is located in 1521 Hotel, M.L. Quezon National Highway, Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan.

If you like your pasta creamy and indulgent, try the Alfredo Rigatoni from The Abaca Group’s Italian brand. Imagine buttery cream sauce loaded with herbs and parmesan cheese clinging to and coating every crevice of toothsome rigatoni pasta.
