Micro, small enterprises get subsidies from San Fernando

EIGHTY more nano and micro-entrepreneurs in the City of San Fernando received subsidies from the local government through the “Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay” program.

On October 22, the City Investment Promotion Office (IPO) awarded P8,000 worth of subsidy to the fourth batch of Fernandino entrepreneurs.

The subsidy will be used to buy materials, machines, or other resources needed for beneficiaries’ businesses.

NSB, a livelihood seeding program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), was first adopted by the LGU in December 2020. To date, the NSB already has 311 beneficiaries, including food manufacturers, garment-makers, meat-processors, ice cream vendors, and other micro and nano entrepreneurs from the different barangays.

Alongside NSB, the IPO also holds trade fairs, Christmas bazaars and caravans, livelihood skills training, entrepreneurial and managerial training, packaging and labeling training, and market matching to help local entrepreneurs introduce their products and services to consumers.

The activity was graced by Elenita Ordonio, DTI Pampanga provincial director.

DTI is the local government’s partner agency in providing seminars and training to the beneficiaries.

Fernandino entrepreneurs who are interested in applying for the subsidy program and marketing activities of the LGU may visit their office at Heroes Hall in Barangay San Juan for registration and consultation. (PR)
