SHARING her blessings is a joy for Tokyo 2020 Olympics silver medalist Nesthy Alcayde Petecio who donated her Milo congratulatory gift to House of Hope and gifted her brand new home in Quezon Province to her younger sister on Monday, October 25.

The House of Hope received 343 cases of Bear Brand Adult Plus (123x33g), 56 cases of Bear Brand (120X99g), 105 cases of Milo (24g), 30 cases of Nestea Lemon Litro Pack (144x25g), Nestea Cranberry Red Tea (144x25g), and Nestea Apple Litro Pack (144x25g) from Milo.

The 29-year-old Aiba Women's World Boxing champion, who recently had a short vacation in Davao to receive the key to her New Housing Authority (NHA) home as promised to her by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, said House of Hope was her personal choice.

"Kay gikan pud diha akoa pamangkin po, leukemia cancer survivor pud sya. Dugay na pud ko gusto mag help pud diha sa mga bata jud (My nephew also came from there, he's a leukemia survivor. I've long been wanting to help the kids there)," she told this writer in a Messenger interview.

House of Hope founder Dr. Mae Dolendo, on her Facebook, posted: "Thank you Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio for sharing your blessings with House of Hope. We will continue to pray for your continued success! You make our country and every Filipino proud."

To the Milo company and staff, thank you for the opportunity that you have given me so I can share a little help to children with cancer. I hope that this will not be the last time, and more attention will be given to House of Hope)."

She also expressed her gratitude to the House of Hope management and staff. "Dako kaayo akong pasalamat kay gikan diha akoa pamangkin nga si Zyhron Buot. Usa pud sya ka leukemia cancer survivor. Salamat kaayo Milo og House of Hope, God bless you po (I am so thankful because my nephew Zhyron Buot recovered from there. He's also a leukemia cancer survivor. Thank you Milo and House of Hope, God bless!)," Petecio added.

Sisterly love

Nice Zzaa Petecio was moved into tears after her sister Nesthy gave her the key to her brand new Caliya Home Candelaria Quezon unit, a congratulatory token from Ovialand Inc., which was also turned over on Monday, October 25.

"Nakahilak Ma'am tears of joy tawon Ma'am. Pasalamat kaayo ko naka-ate ko og buotan og manghinatagon (I cried tears of joy. I am very thankful to have a sister who is so kind and and generous)," said the mother of two.

Nesthy has earlier pledged her Ovialand house and lot to Nice Zzaa as she wanted her nephews to be comfortable. The Petecio toured the house together after a simple turnover ceremony.

The younger Petecio said, "Nindot og elegant, neat tan-awon (The house looked beautiful and elegant, it was neat)."

Nice Zzaa and her family will move to their new home at the end of this month.

Nesthy thanked Ovialand Inc., saying, "Maraming salamat po sa pledge niyo na bahay (Thank you for your pledge of a house) Ovialand, Inc. Caliya Homes Candelaria Quezon. Isang malaking pasasalamat po sa blessing na ito lalo na sa pamilya ko (This is a great blessing especially for my family)."

Aside from the brand new home, she said Nesthy will also give her the Chery car Tiggo 2 whom the latter named, "McQueen" after the famous Disney cartoon movie series, Cars. The vehicle was also gifted to her by Chery Auto Philippines following her Olympic success.

Nesthy recently purchased a silver Nissan Navara while vacationing in Davao City.

Nice Zzaa, in a past interview, said all she ever wished was for her sister to win in the Olympics to compensate for all her sacrifices. But she never imagined that her family will also benefit from Nesthy's Tokyo feat.

"Dako kaayo kog utang na loob sa pag-support sakong ate sa pag support palang sa akong panganay. Masking dili man ko maayo na igsoon ginahunahuna gihapon ko niya og akong mga anak (I am so indebted for the support of my sister even for my eldest. I may not be a good sibling but she still thought of my and my children)," the former national boxing team member said.

Meanwhile, Nesthy said she will resume training in November in Baguio City. (MLSA)
