NGOs, Lagman donate phones for San Fernando school students

OFFICIALS of the Rotary Club of Central Pampanga (RCCP), Quota International of Pampanga and the Garbes Family donated on October 25 dozens of cellular phones to the Nuestra Sra. Del Pilar Integrated School in Barangay Del Pilar in a bid to help students in their educational needs amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Garbes Family was represented by Vice Mayoralty aspirant Benedict Jasper Lagman.

The donation was in response to the appeal of Principal Richard Agustin and Brigada Eskwela coordinator Ma. Theresa Otchengco to support some 100 indigent students. The phones will be used in communication and following up learners’ module completion.

The donations included 124 units of Nokia 3310 and 100 pieces of Talk ‘n Text SIM packs. The school said that the donations will greatly help students in the modular learning program.

Lagman said he fully supports the current efforts of local teachers and school heads in answering to the needs of their students amid the challenges brought by the pandemic.

He added that he supports such programs to enable indigent students not be left behind in the learning modalities implemented by the education sector.

RCCP, for its part, pledge to support the needs of schools in San Fernando whenever it can.

Recently, the organization had been supporting Brigada Eskwela programs in Masantol and Minalin as it donated need printing materials and hygiene supplies.
