Northern Samar cops nab 9 wanted persons, 7 other offenders

AN INTENSIFIED simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation led to the arrest of nine wanted persons and seven other law offenders in Northern Samar towns Monday, October 25, 2021.

Colonel Arnel Apud, director of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, lauded the “efforts and dedication” of the police personnel in the towns of Laoang, Lope de Vega, Lavezares, San Isidro, Victoria, Silvino Lobos, Catarman, and Mondragon for the arrest of the wanted persons.

Laoang Municipal Police Station led by Captain Ricardo Banjawan, along with the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company headed by Major Seth Mark Alob, apprehended the number 6 most wanted person (provincial) for rape.

An operation conducted by Lope de Vega Municipal Police Station resulted in the arrest of Northern Samar’s number 7 most wanted for murder.

In Lavezares, police collared the town's number 1 most wanted for rape, while a manhunt operation hatched by San Isidro police resulted in the arrest of a wanted person for acts of lasciviousness.

Operatives also rounded up another wanted person for acts of lasciviousness in Victoria.

In Mondragon and Silvino Lobos, two personalities were arrested for direct assault and homicide, respectively.

According to the police provincial office, seven other persons were also apprehended for violations of special laws involving illegal gambling, illegal logging, and loose firearms.

The arrested persons were brought to the respective police units prior to turnover to the courts of origin. (SunStar Philippines)
