ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. is set to enable the online payment for business tax in January 2022, two months after the official launching of the Real Property Tax online payment.

Lazatin said this new payment scheme is part of the city’s efforts to improve basic services or the Ease of Doing Business.

“In addition, we can continue to limit face-to-face interactions and observe physical distancing,” Lazatin said.

To date, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and involved key offices -- City Treasurer’s Office led by Juliet Quinsaat, Business Permit and Licensing Division headed by Evangeline Malonzo, Information and Communications Technology Division led by Michael Lising, ICTD Consultant Allan Anonuevo, and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office led by Irish Bonus-Llego -- are in a series of preparations with MultiSys Corp. representatives for the upcoming launching.

Calaguas, the project implementer, said this innovation will help save more time and effort for the part of taxpayers in dealing with the City Government’s transactions.

Just like the RPT online payment, the payment method could be done through mobile banking, Gcash, ecPay, and bank.

Lazatin has launched the online portal for RPT payment on October 25, 2021.

It can be recalled that in 2002, then Angeles City mayor Carmelo Lazatin Sr. pioneered the full-computerization of revenue generating offices in the City Government and became the first ISO-Certified system outside Metro Manila.

Calaguas was then the project officer and chief implementer of Tarzan Lazatin’s computerization program. (PR)
